Mayo Clinic Jacksonville
One of the top medical research facilities in the nation.  Located only 3 miles to the west.

Guana River State Park Located 15 miles south on A1A Guana River is an unspoiled cocina beach.   No dogs are allowed in state parks.  The south parking lot has wheelchair access.

Jacksonville Beach Band Shell
Walk 10 blocks south to downtown Jacksonville Beach.  Free concerts, festivals, and movies under the stars in the summer.  Dogs are allowed on Jacksonville Beach after 6pm or before 9am only.

Jacksonville Zoo Jacksonville has a very nice zoo located on the north side near I-95 at 8605 Zoo Parkway.  757-4462

Day Trips

St. Augustine The oldest city in the United States founded in 1565 has an historic district with numerous shops, art galleries, and restaurants.  The Castillo San Marco is located here as well as the lighthouse, Fountain of Youth, and Alligator Farm.  The first Friday evening of each month is art walk with live music and free drinks at many galleries.  St Augustine's beach is pet friendly 24/7.

Anastasia State Park  On the beach at St Augustine is one of Florida's most secluded 4 mile long white sand beaches.  Pack a picnic lunch and spend the day with no one but the seagulls.  Discreet nude sun bathing is sometimes possible at the north end of the beach.

Fernandina, FL  Explore Florida's past in one of our quaint fishing villages.  Enjoy the drive up the coast through Mayport, take the ferry across the Intracoastal waterway, and have lunch in Fernandina.  Fernandina is famous for it's shrimp festival every spring.  Located 24 miles north.

Disney, Universal Studios, and Seaworld A short 2 1/2 hour drive is Orlando with all the shopping, entertainment, excitement and thrills you can handle in one day.

Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Port Watch the shuttle launch or experience the IMAX theatre and tour.  Two hours away just past Daytona Beach.

Historic Savannah Georgia  Take a walking tour of one of the countries most haunted cities.  Enjoy the architecture of one of the only cities in Georgia that Sherman didn't burn.  A two hour drive to our north.

Daytona Beach  Feel like a party?  Eighty seven miles south is Daytona Beach, famous for the Daytona 500 speedway, spring break, and bike week.
